July Mt. Lemmon Trip

James and I took a trip to Mt. Lemmon before the school year started.  We had taken a trip here before, but didn't make it very far up.  Mt. Lemmon is a nice escape because it's only about 45 minutes from where we live and the farther up you go the more forest-like and opposite of Tucson landscape it is.  This time we were determined to make it to Summer Haven, about a 2 hour drive up the mountain.  The closer we got to our destination the worse the weather was looking.  When we got to Summer Haven Mother Nature was in full force!  We were caught in a terrible monsoon with lots of thunder, lightning, and hail.  As soon as it showed signs of clearing we went right back down the mountain.  No hiking that day. :(
